Victoria stamp duty rates 2025-26
Victoria charges transfer duty on a sliding scale of the property's dutiable value. These are the current brackets the calculator uses:
| Dutiable value | Duty payable |
|---|---|
| $0 – $25,000 | 1.4% of the value |
| $25,001 – $130,000 | $350 + 2.4% over $25,000 |
| $130,001 – $960,000 | $2,870 + 6% over $130,000 |
| $960,001 – $2,000,000 | 5.5% of the full value |
| Over $2,000,000 | $110,000 + 6.5% over $2,000,000 |
Note the $960,001–$2,000,000 band is charged at a flat 5.5% of the entire value, not marginally. Victoria adds an 8% foreign purchaser additional duty.
